Unless you’ve been in hibernation for the past 18 months, you’re not likely to have missed the distinctive, corrugated building gradually emerging from the cusp of Nottingham’s Lace Market. It hasn’t been without its controversies, but Nottingham Contemporary will open its doors this Saturday. The first artists featured in what is now one of the biggest arts centres in the UK will be David Hockney and Frances Stark.
