Filmmaker needed by Leicester City Council

Leicester City Council and partners are looking for a talented and creative individual or organisation to produce a short film. The film is aimed at helping to encourage graduates to stay in Leicester City and Leicestershire. The deadline is 8 February. More info here.

Freelance and Part time Creative Industries tutors needed

The Stone Soup Project is looking to employ part-time creative industries tutors from February 2010 to work in their Nottingham Education Centre. They need freelance workshop tutors to work on an ad hoc basis as well as part-time tutors who want regular work in their pre-16 provision. Applicants should have subject specific knowledge in a Creative Industries subject such as music technology, video and graphic design. Deadline for application is 28 February 2010. Lord Puttnam talk: Wednesday 27 January

Nottingham Trent University’s Distinguished Lecture Series continues with celebrated British film producer Lord Puttnam of Queensgate CBE. Lord Puttnam will be talking about how evolving digital technologies can help transform education and learning. The lecture is free to attend, but you’ll need a ticket. This should be popular so book your place now.

Indian Music Vocal Classes: from tonight

Tonight sees the start of a new way to express yourself. You can learn a new skill with lessons in Indian classical singing at the New Art Exchange, whether you’re a singing novice or a regular warbler. Details here.

Hair of the dog

It’s great to hear that Year of the Dog Films (originally based at the Hive in Nottingham) is doing well. They are now developing a pilot episode for their new TV series in LA!
