We’ve got several exciting new community features on CreativeNottingham launching this week…
First up: it’s a jobs listings for creative jobs in Nottinghamshire.
And if you’re an employer it’s totally FREE to post your job.
So are we totally crazy? Out to do Nottingham Evening Post out of business? Well, it’s like this:
Despite a creaking 0.1% growth in the UK economy, this recession is proving tough for people to get the jobs they deserve and the boarded up shopfronts across places like Hockley give me the feeling of living in a ‘Ghost Town’, in early ’80s Coventry. But a big barrier in working in the creative sector is it ends up being not ‘what you know’ but ‘who you know’. And a lot of smaller creative businesses just don’t have the money to recruit (or find out who’s out there they could work with) because of the cost of advertising and recruitment consultants.
So we cut out the middle-people, and put you – Nottingham’s creative community – straight in touch with the jobs you want. There’s no restrictions on jobs posts – it can be permanent, freelance, casual or requesting quotations – just as long as the job is based in or within commuting distance of Nottingham, and you want to recruit someone from a creative background.
Usually jobs listings cost £100+ per month, so all we ask is that if you post a job and find the site has helped you get the talent you needed, that you consider making a donation or purchasing an advert to support CreativeNottingham.
This is a brand new WordPress app we’re using for the job listings – it’s in beta so it’s a bit clunky and could do with better features like subscribing to job alerts by email/RSS etc. If you’re a techie type and may be up for helping with some Wordpress modding and coding please get in touch.
There’s a few jobs there now of opportunities to work with CreativeNottingham.
