SO Festival 2009 - so last year

Installation Art

  • Fancy an expense paid trip to the seaside?   In particular to the traditional seaside for Nottingham folk?  The SO Festivalat Skegness wants to commission “a series of installations and dressings of landmarks, buildings, gardens and beach areas of the Skegness seafront” and they particularly want to hear from “East Midlands based artists, creative’s and designers”.  The application process is fully electronic – the deadline is 16 April. Selected artists will be invited to a site visit (ie Skegness) with expenses paid.

 Film

  • The first International festival of Filmdirecting4women (FD4WIFF for heaven’s sake)  has issued a call for entries in various categories.  As well as the standard deadline of 28 May, there is an Early Bird deadline of 30 April, and, for people like me, a Late deadline of 25 June.  There will be prizes.  The festival will take place in September in London.

Latest from the Community site:

  • Audience participation is required for the Improv Battleship – Live Comedy –  at the Arts Organisation on 30 April.
  • There is a call for “artists and performers working outside or at the edge of their discipline, or who maybe involved in collaboration with artists from other fields” to take part in the Hatch-Across on St James Street on 1 June.  Anyone who witnessed the Hatch Abroad, on Broad Street, last October, will want to put this date in their diary.
