Links Round-up- Gearing up for Bank Holiday Weekend

As the bank holiday approaches make sure you get out and about (and no, not to Ikea or B&Q!)- there’s all-sorts going on in Nottingham this weekend and here is a selection which I hope will appeal!


Carol Ann Easton is having a private viewing tonight at Nottingham Arts Society (Friar Lane) from 6-8pm. Her Make Believe exhibition will be closing on June 2nd so don’t miss out!

An exhibition at the Castle museum will be running until the 13th June showcasing 100 years worth of collecting new art in Nottingham. Paintings from the Nottingham Castle archives and from private collections will be hanging with a selection of current members works combining post and present members of the creative society.


City Pulse is back this weekend from Saturday 29th May- Monday 31st May bringing to Nottingham a feast of free outdoor music. This family party is an eclectic mix of music styles to suit a host of preferences and is situated at different locations around the city centre. A quick reminder that on Sunday 30th May, Dot to Dot Festival will be in Nottingham with hundreds of live acts offering a unique experience for festival goers and artists alike.


Compania de Danca Deborah Colker will be returning to Nottingham this weekend showcasing Cruel. This sexy, edgy, modern dance company will be gracing the stage of the Nottingham Playhouse on Friday 28th May and Saturday 29th May. The acrobatic chereography which includes dodging knives and weaving in and out of revolving mirrors has been devised by  “Brazils Queen of Modern Dance” (Rio Times) Deborah Colker and looks to be an exciting evening out!


Nottinghams most underground photography exhibition is now open. It profiles 84 of Nottingham Trents soon to be graduates work across 14 locations across the city. Please follow the RAW link for full listings of locations and names of photographers.
