On Tuesday, 15 June, Filing the Unfiled : Unfiling the Filed, a solo show of recent works by Carl Slater opens at the Surface Gallery.  The exhibition deals with:

The base material for the first part of the show has been gleaned from leftovers of a post-industrial sewing machine factory in southern France, where a mass of business documents have been re-appropriated by the artist for selection and assemblage.

so the exhibition should appeal to everyone with a day job in an office.

Two weeks today is another of the Apples and Pears Arts Markets, held in Sneinton Market from 1oam to 3pm, in this case on 26 June.

Backlit Group Show 2010, starts Thursday, 17th June 2010 and runs through to July 4th 2010.  Opening times aren’t clear on their website so perhaps best to give them a ring on 0115 950 8751 before heading to The Factory, Dakeyne Street, Nottingham, NG3 2AR.

Arts and Crafts are currently on display in Calverton at the Patchings Art Festival. But you will have to be quick as today, Saturday 12 June and tomorrow, Sunday, are the last two days.  They are open 10 to 5 on Saturday, 10 to 4.30 on Sunday.

Logo competition: if you haven’t voted yet, hurry up, it will soon be over.

Lastly, it’s been great having Aaron Cottrell as a guest blogger, if you want to know more about him and his day job, have a look at Outerarc or follow them on Twitter: @outerarc.  Saying Goodbye to Aaron means we will soon be saying Welcome to our next guest blogger,  Sarah Davenport.  If you can’t wait for her posts, have a look at Davenport Interiors, Twitter: @Sarah_Davenport.  And if you are one of those people who sneaks downstairs and opens ALL your presents early on your birthday, you can read about  all the guest bloggers here.
