Links Round-Up: from Poetry to the Pet Shop Boys


From the 17th July Nottingham Contemporary will be showcasing the work of Diane Arbus. Her influential, compelling and honest style has paved the way for the work of contemporary photographers and is an inspiration to many . Work across Arbus’ career is being displayed, highlighting her importance as a twentieth century photographer- this is definitely an event not to be missed!


Quick Reminder- Charity Burlesque Art Class- Dr Sketchy Nottingham Saturday 19th June 12.30-4pm. Run by Scarlett Daggers and our very own Charlotte Thomson, this anti art school combines cabaret and life-drawing. ‘Forces Sweethearts’, this month is a special charity event raising money for the armed forces where two burlesque dancers will be modeling and performing. Tickets are £8 on the door or online (£6 with N.U.S) so book a place and enjoy an afternoon of drawing and glamour!

CreativeNottingham’s Logo competition will be coming to a close this Friday, 18th June, so if you haven’t already, vote for who you feel best represents our creative community!


Splendour Festival– 24th July. Only £15 for city residents with stalls, fun fair, comedy and of-corse some great music from the likes of Calvin Harris, Pet shop boys and OK Go. Book tickets now and avoid disappointment!


Pub Poetry tonight at the Canal House– a fun, free and informal night of lighthearted comic word and poetry. Come along for a beer and some culture, all readers and listeners welcome!
