CreativeNottingham seek new team members: social media, marketing & business development

We’re looking for new members to join the Creative Nottingham team to help us on our mission to connect together, share and shout about Nottingham’s fantastic creative, cultural and digital communities.

Do you have a passion for growing Nottingham’s creative community?  Is there stuff going on you hear about and think more people should know about, or are you new to the scene and curious to find out what’s going on?  It’s a great way to grow your professional skills so get involved today.

We’re looking for:

Business development, marketing & admin specialist

Creative Nottingham has some exciting developments afoot to grow our online community and add value to the creative business community.  We’re seeking three different functions that could be filled by one multi-talented person or two people sharing tasks:

Business Development – to help grow our sales, sponsorship and community offer and find ways to raise income to support our website.  Tasks include compiling monthly web stats, managing sales & advertiser campaigns, developing new online services and direct marketing of our services to businesses.

Marketing & PR – helping us shout about how great Nottingham and its creatives are by promoting our community and services through our own networks, local press and raising awareness of Creative Nottingham within the business community.

Admin & Finance  – Keeping our team in the loop managing meetings, our finances and our online workspace.

The time commitment for this role is 8-10 hours per month, worked at any time but it may be necessary to make phone calls or attend some meetings during office hours.

Team blogger

We’re seeking another blogger from a diverse background to complement our existing team with an interest in culture, business and media in Nottingham, whether you’re a recent graduate or experienced business professional. Good copywriting skills are crucial, prior experience of blogging is useful and a passion for celebrating Nottingham is a given. We currently work on a rota with each team blogger running the site for one week in every five – you will write about everything (all sectors) that’s new that week. The time commitment is approximately 8-10 hours a month, which can be done anytime during your editorial week.

Social media and web technical expert

Creative Nottingham has a secret mission to get Notts creative connected using the social media tools.  We currently have an active presence in Twitter, Posterous, YouTube and Facebook and have previously used live blogging and social reporting tools to amplify partner events.  We’re looking for someone to be our resident expert all things social web and technical which includes researching and installing new WordPress tools and Twitter apps, leading our social media volunteers to promote new thinking in all things social web and technical troubleshooting our website and social network presences.  The time commitment of this role is 8 – 10 hours per month.

Guest bloggers

Are you working on an exciting project or do you have ideas you would like to spread about your work in Nottingham’s creative sector?   Notts is a hotbed of awesome creative talent and we want Creative Nottingham to be the voice of the creative sector.  So far we’ve had an international furniture designer, a branding researcher, an environmental designer and a comedian talk about their work in the city.  You will write between three and five guest posts in a two week period, and we’ll be on hand to advise you with the technical side of things.  It’s a great promotional platform to share what you’re doing and start blogging.

How we work

CreativeNottingham is run co-operatively by a friendly team of creative professionals, with contributors equally benefiting from any profits made by the service or incomes received.  All team members (except guest blogger) will need to also take part in our management meetings and contribute their ideas to the develop of the organisation.  Meetings take place once a month either online or at Antenna media centre on a weekday evening. Based on the experiences of the Created In Birmingham team, it’s a project with the potential to win you plenty of kudos and work from your involvement and you’ll help to create a sustainable, local creative business community in the process too.  We offer plenty of support and training opportunities for team members.    Bonus!
