What makes you different to other creative people in Nottingham?
I’m a designer maker at heart and enjoy the challenge of creating new collections and new business relationships, however, since opening the design studio & shop in 2009 my business is much more than that, we’re part of the community rather than just a shop. We have created the opportunity to buy from British designers and encourage creativity though our design workshops and sunday tea parties
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
We have recently expanded the shop and the size of my studio which means we can showcase more collections, host our design workshops more comfortably, it was quite cosy before to say the least!
We are working with Nottinghamshire Museums to create Debbie Bryan Heritage at their gallery shops , we launch at Nottingham Castle in April. I hope this is something we can do with other City Councils, I’m have a genuine love for nostalgia and heritage.
For me as a maker I’m showing new collections including our new eco-fashion range in London ,Germany and France later this year and hope to re-visit the USA for the New York International Gift Fair in 2012. After that, build on what I’m doing as a designer and retailer.
