Not Monday, but Saturday 16 June will see a Cyanotype Workshop with John Pearson at Backlit. Two hours and £7.50 later, you might be able to produce something like this image.
Refugee Week is celebrated in Nottingham from 18 to 24 June. The Central Library will be exhibiting art created locally by people working with those who have come here as refugees. It is linked to events at Nottingham Contemporary, who are starting the week early with a free launch event on Saturday 16 June from noon to 5pm.
We will be seeing the “cultural olympiad” phrase on more and more activities over the next few months. One such is the Drama Showcase also at the Central Library on Saturday, 16 June, from 11 to 2.30. As well as seeing performances by local groups, you can find out more about joining in yourself. Don’t be shy!
Speaking of making a drama, you may have noticed a link on our top navigation bar, to a new page: Cookies. We take it for granted that all readers of this site are sophisticated, leading edge creatives who know all about cookies, tracking, personal information, web browsers and the like. So we don’t expect anyone to be surprised, but just in case, we have put a few notes together and an explanation of why we think you have given implied consent to the cookies that are set. There is a lot of fuss about this in some quarters, I suspect the EU law is simply taking the biscuit.
