CN’s Sue Barsby cutting the cake with help from Caron Lyon and Phil Campbell. Thanks guys…

It was party night on Wednesday. You may have heard us go on about it earlier in the week…

There was cake, there was bonhomie and there was alcohol (there was also colouring but more about that in another blog post…)  I don’t know about you but that’s all I need for a good time!

Here are some pics from the night with the highlights of the speech made by our Phil…

Phil! He’d got notes and everything…

“The problems that we faced back in the start are the same problems that we face today, namely “how do we ensure as a community and a group, that we are able to publicise the stuff that really needs advertising? For instance, your Nottingham Contemporaries, Royal Theatres, Playhouses have dedicated marketing teams at their disposal and on a payroll. What we’re after are creative enterprises and businesses that don’t have the resources to send out press releases or manage mailing lists. So for those companies, Creative Nottingham is that channel.

Some of our FABULOUS guest bloggers from times past.. Simon from Seismik and Sarah Manton (I hope I remembered the names right through the gin haze – apologies if not and I’ll change it)

“After a while we introduced our guest blogger series, who better to talk about creative endeavours than the people who were doing it all? Guest blogs have been fantastically successful and we’re so grateful for all our guest bloggers and what they’ve done for us.

Phil’s captive audience…

“What’s next? Well we’d love to think we’ll be around in another four years but you might have got sick of us by then. What’s coming up, there’s Notts TV, the Creative Quarter, not to mention the general economic recovery of the country…

John (with beard) and Kathy McArdle…

“Thank you to everyone, all our guest bloggers, Strafe Creative, Liana at Swirls Bakery, our team and everyone who reads the site, engages with it and keeps us going.”

Thanks to all of you who came, hope you enjoyed yourselves! And to continue the plea, if you would like to write for us, please do get in touch –  editor AT creativenottingham.com
