If you are anywhere near the centre of Nottingham today, Friday, 28 March, you have the chance to give your views on the shape and development of the Creative Quarter. Direct to the CQ Team (including Kathy, Dan, and Sarah) on the top floor of Edin’s Natural Kitchen on 15 Carlton Street. [And while you are there, why not buy a coffee or tea – they have arranged for the iconic clock above the shop to be re-furbished, it was still in some protective wrapping this morning.]
The Open House event is running until 7pm tonight, so there is still plenty of time today to make your views known. When you arrive you can see the draft strategy, full of ideas and plans for numerical measures. You can read the notes from their strategy discussion from mid-February – do you agree? There is a whiteboard to write on, there are people to talk to, and Nottingham’s largest collection of stickies – yellow and blue, are available for you to make comments and add to the timeline.
I was there this morning and was impressed by how open they were, how much they were listening to me and the others at the time. So go along, make your voice heard. And if you can’t make it today, you can still contribute by attending n the Imagining The City afternoon, next Friday, 4 April at the Vintage Warehouse on Lower Parliament Street (free tickets). This Creative Quarter event, in conjunction with Next Business Generation, asks: How can we create a sustainable, vibrant Nottingham for the future?
