After reading our blogpost on the re-opening of the Malt Cross, I made my way there on Friday to see if their luscious hot chocolates are as good as they were before the refurbishment. [Spoiler alert: probably yes, but more research needed.] I discovered that the Malt Cross have created a pop-up shop space at the front, accessible from inside the bar and directly from St James’s street. It is currently occupied by Handmade Nottingham and has a lovely stock of crafts, cards, gifts. Speaking to the artist on duty behind the till (but too shy to be photographed), I learnt that Handmade provides a means for local creatives and designers to sell their products.
They will be there until Christmas (at least), and are open 10 – 6, Monday to Saturday, and 12 – 4 on Sunday. There are lots of events and craft sales in the next few weeks – our blogpost last week is a good guide. But if you can’t make it to any of those, try this pop-up (after sampling the hot chocolate, of course).
