Creative Nottingham was devised in 2009 to join up business communities using good old fashioned journalist editorial combined with the (then) new thinking of social media. Five years on, it has become a thriving community of creative voices, connecting and celebrating all that is great about this city.
Last year, to celebrate our fourth birthday, we gave ourselves a makeover. The new look came courtesy of Patrick Dolan at Strafe Creative, who was involved in the original design and offered his services again to update and improve the site.
The site is staffed entirely by volunteers, including a small core team to keep everything ticking over, and a series of guest posts and occasional articles from creatives all over the city.
“Five years on, Creative Nottingham has a strong purpose and raison d’etre,” says Susi O’Neill, one of the founders of Creative Nottingham. “One which has changed and evolved and, with the support of contributors and readers, will continue to do so. A platform for aspiring business writers, digital marketers, thinkers and creative business leaders, Nottingham needs its creative community more than ever before.”
As with all voluntary projects, the site needs a wide range of voices to stay fresh and relevant.
“We’re always on the lookout for new bloggers and team members,” says Sue Barsby, the site’s fearless leader. “If you would like to join us please email us at editor AT creativenottingham.com or tweet us at @creativenotts. We’d love to hear from you.”
